Custom Water Chilling System for Kerry Group Global Technology and Innovation centre in Naas co Kildare was supplied last week by Kilkenny Cooling Systems.
Kerry Group PLC is a leading multinational food manufacturer with a turnover in excess of 5.8 billion and a workforce of over 24,000 employees worldwide.
Their €100 million state-of-the-art global technology and innovation centre in Naas Co. Kildare was opened last year by An Taoiseach Enda Kenny to serve the Group’s global and regional customers in the EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] region. The facility employs 800 research, product commercialisation, business development and business support staff – with a further 100 to join by the end of 2016.
As part of their innovation process for developing new products, the Kerry facility needs a constant supply of chilled water with very exacting temperature and volume specifications. Kilkenny Cooling Systems was commissioned to design and build a bespoke cooling system to meet with these requirements.
The chiller is a robust design of all stainless-steel construction. It is fitted with an integral refrigeration system, control panel with digital temperature readout and all stainless steel heat exchanger. The robust construction is designed to last for many years.
The cooling system is also fitted with Kilkenny’s patented jet agitation combi pump. This is a top mounted semi-submersible pump which ensures excellent heat transfer throughout the tank.
Kilkenny Cooling Systems has supplied similar cooling systems to a variety of food manufacturing businesses. Breweries, bakeries, dairies, seafood plants, soup manufacturers and butchers are all business which have benefited from our ability to design and build customised cooling and process control systems which meet with very specific requirements.
