Largest Ice Builder Model Shipped to Chile South America
This week we shipped an IB-08-2500 model ice builder (out largest standard model) to Chile in South America, where it will be used in the dairy industry.
The IB-08-2500 is the highest capacity we manufacture as standard with an ice reserve in excess of 4500 kg.
This ice builder model has been used in a number of international applications, with examples in the Middle East, the UK, Canada and now in South America.
The machine is designed to fit into a shipping container while maximising available space, as can be seen from the image above.

Kilkenny Cooling Systems ice builders are installed in over 20 countries on five continents, and are popular because of their robust, reliable design and excellent build quality. The machines will provide a supply of ice water, at just above freezing point, which can be used in a wide variety of cooling applications. Ice builders are particularly useful in scenarios where a huge peak in cooling demand over a short space of time is required, or indeed in scenarios where power supply is augmented with renewables. This is because of the ‘stored cooling’ advantages of building a large ice bank.
They are often used in dairy process cooling applications, however they have been used in very many other applications such as cooling soup and other foodstuffs, and in the bakery industry where they can provide huge volumes of water for making dough at just above freezing point.
The machines can be supplied refrigerated or without refrigeration – with the commissioning to be done by a local contractor.
