Here at Kilkenny Cooling Systems we are delighted to say that The Irish Times has featured the Award Winning Energy Saving VS beer cooler in an article today. The article is written on the subject of R & D (Research and Development) within Irish SMEs – specifically, funding mechanisms relating to it.

The Irish Times article features two companies (one of which is Kilkenny Cooling Systems) who have had highly successful R & D projects under the collaborative TEC Gateway Innovation Voucher system.
The article discusses our ongoing working relationship with Nimbus Embedded Systems in CIT and how their expertise was utilised in order to evaluate all beer cooling systems available on the Irish market when deciding how to develop our VS Cooler offering further.
Kilkenny Cooling Systems’ experience of the Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher System has been extremely positive, with an excellent outcome for the company from the use of their voucher.
“The process is straightforward. Getting some of the supports can be a little bit onerous but the vouchers are very straightforward and targeted. You have a specific requirement and they meet with it. The resulting product has been very successful with exports to the UK and it’s outselling our standard system.” – John Smee, Engineer.
The VS project has been hugely successful with sales of the system exceeding standard systems since around mid 2016 and new export market opportunities ongoing.
