This week we completed a highly specialised bespoke industrial beverage chilling system for one of the largest soft drinks manufacturers in the world, based near Cork City. The system was designed to meet a set of very specific requirements. Chilled product is delivered to the manufacturing facility in bulk tankers. It must remain chilled as it is transferred to the production process.
The Kilkenny ice water based process chilling system shown in the above image was designed specifically for this purpose.
The system uses our patented combi pump which features jet agitation and it features integral refrigeration and it is capable of building an ice reserve over the course of several hours which allows it to meet a very short, very high demand cooling load as thousands of litres of product are pumped into fixed storage tanks in the manufacturing facility.
The image above shows the chiller nearing completion on our factory floor. It is finished to an extremely high standard in brushed 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance and is designed to last for many years continuous operation.
Kilkenny Cooling Systems has an in-house industrial and process cooling system design capacity and we pride ourselves in our ability to design and manufacture chillers to meet with very specific customer requirements. We have manufactured chillers which are used in a huge variety of application such as cooling soup kettles, tanks on fish farms, crab cooking vessels, beer and cheese production and the chilling of industrial machinery such as extrusion machines and plastic injection moulding heads.
We can manufacture process cooling systems with small ice reserves suitable for ‘under counter’ operation right up to the IB-08-2160 which is our largest ice builder – a machine with over 4,000 kg of ice with a stored cooling capacity of over 340 kWh of refrigeration duty.
