The eDrive is a brand new design of energy efficient draught beer cooling system by leading Irish manufacturer Kilkenny Cooling Systems, launching in 2024.
Developed and rigorously tested in collaboration with Diageo Ireland and the South East Technological University, the eDrive cooler offers unprecedented levels of cooling system control, and guaranteed, independently verified energy savings for all venues which serve draught beer.
The eDrive cooler saves money for the pub in two ways:
- Beer cooler motor and electronic drives are the most energy efficient designs available and utilise the latest technology.
- The eDrive utilises a brand-new control system which calibrates the beer cooler operation to each individual outlet’s unique setup and opening hours
Savings are guaranteed but the exact amount depends on the setup and serving profile of the bar.
Extensive testing on trial sites with data independently reviewed by Diageo and SETU resulted in the following running cost savings*

The eDrive cooler is the latest innovation by Kilkenny Cooling Systems – Ireland’s leading draught beer cooler manufacturer.
Kilkenny Beer Coolers are installed in all of Ireland’s ‘prestige’ venues from 3Arena to Aviva Stadium, Croke Park, Adare Manor, and in thousands more hotels, pubs and clubs nationwide.
Further afield, Kilkenny coolers are installed in Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium, London’s O2 Arena and the brand new ABBA Voyage arena (also in London).
In 2024 Arsenal FC will complete a large upgrade of the bars in the Emirates Stadium with custom-built Kilkenny beer coolers.
