Custom Cooling System Designed and Built for Multinational Test Facility
A complex cooling challenge in their testing schedule prompted the engineering team of a multinational pump manufacturer to seek out a specialist cooling system design and manufacturer.
Custom Cooling System Designed and Built for Multinational Test Facility:
The client company assembles pumps and pump components for a wide variety of customers worldwide. Their pump testing operation must take place within a prescribed, tight temperature tolerance.
The client discovered that when they became busy, the fluid they were using to test the pumps started to heat up, pushing the procedure out of spec, and rendering their tests invalid.
They made some enquiries as to who would be best placed to assist them with their temperature control challenge, and ultimately contacted Kilkenny Cooling Systems, who designed and built a bespoke cooling solution for their process.
Their basic plastic coolant tanks were replaced with custom-built stainless steel reservoirs (shown above). Each reservoir has with an integrated heat transfer surface. Temperature-controlled coolant is pumped through this surface, rendering their testing procedure significantly more stable, and permanently within the prescribed tolerance limits.
