Kilkenny VS Beer Cooler Receives Second National Award Nomination
Here at Kilkenny Cooling Systems we are absolutely delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for another award for our brand new and highly innovative Kilkenny VS energy efficient beer cooling system – the IBEC Environment Award for Products and Services – awarded for the development or implementation of a new product or service that is environmentally efficient.
Earlier this year the Kilkenny VS Beer Cooling System was independently shown by engineers from Cork Institute of Technology to use 28% less electricity than a standard machine on a typical installation – making it the most energy efficient beer cooling system currently available.
The IBEC Environment Awards are held every two years and provide an excellent opportunity to showcase environmental achievements. The awards recognise Irish companies that combine innovation, financial savings and environmental concerns.
Of the three finalists in the Products and Services category, both the winner and the runner up will have the opportunity to compete at the EU level of the awards, (the European Business Awards for the Environment) which is run by the European Commission. This offers Irish companies the chance to promote their achievements at both a national and an international level.
“This is our second national award nomination for this design and we’re absolutely delighted. Reaching the finals of prestigious national competitions is fantastic for the company. First and foremost, it is an acknowledgement of all the combined hard work, effort and creativity put in by the entire team here in the factory to develop the system. Furthermore, national recognition of our achievements in such competitions is an excellent promotional tool for our new product.”
– John Smee, Engineer & VS Cooler Project Leader
“The Kilkenny VS Beer Cooler will be commercially available in early 2016 and interest in the product has been quite significant, given that we have only begun to promote it. I see it as being a very successful product for the future. It sets the standard for energy efficiency in beer cooling for 2016.”
